I have new reviews but they are not appearing on MyReviews yet. Do I need to update it?

Although the reviews do not update straight away they are pulled in regularly.
You do not need to check the setup as it is all done automatically.
We implement a caching layer that lasts approximately 24 hours. This is with the exception of Yelp. Unfortunately Yelp data is very expensive and it is not free. As a result only premium sites receive a guaranteed update approximately on a weekly basis. Freemium installations of MyReviews on Wix are still receiving updates not earlier than on a monthly basis and they are not guaranteed.

This allows the app to serve reviews faster for all users of your website and not break T&Cs with Google, Facebook, Yelp.
If we did not have this in place your website performance would be affected as well as your user experience.
Also notice that the reviews you are seeing might be given by ordering and priority setting forced by the external sites, for instance:
  • Facebook will show the latest reviews
  • Google will show latest reviews. – Have you switched to the new Google Integration yet?
  • Yelp uses its own ordering, so it is not predictable, we used to receive up to 3 reviews but we have now implemented a layer to collect more reviews so you should a lot more and they will be collected over time.


Important information about Google and Facebook

  • removing and adding a Google Place or Facebook page will not force update the reviews and in fact it will likely delay the update further so please wait for the update to happen as the system is fully automated.
  • Google and Facebook might revoke access. To receive a notification do sign up on our mailing list as we would not send notification to emails that are not signed up.
